Bell from the historic shipwreck of the 729 ft. S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald. A crew of 29 died in a deadly storm in November 10, 1975.
Whitefish Point Lighthouse Station was built in 1848 and lit in 1849. The lighthouse is the oldest operating light on Lake Superior. Height of of the lens is 80 feet with a light range of 17 miles. This treacherous shoreline of Lake Superior is known as the "Graveyard of the Great Lakes" in a area with more shipwrecks than any other area of the lake.
